In a riveting knockout final the Roshnee Football Club Under 17 team beat Manchester Rovers in a penalty shootout when the score remained deadlocked on 1-1 after extra time. The RFC under 17's won the penalty shootout 2-0 after two brilliant saves by their goalkeeper. Coach Zuber "Salty" Surtee says it was a fitting end to a long season and the boys worked hard to get to the final and played like stars.
The team performed well in the league and can only grow from this experience. This is the first under 17 team in the short history of the Roshnee Football Club and we are proud that our boys have stayed focused on Soccer and did not quit the game to pursue other interests.
